  • Bangkok By The River: Inside The Peninsula’s Quiet Grandeur

By Shriniwas Kodape TRAVEL Bangkok By The River: Inside The Peninsula’s Quiet Grandeur By Shriniwas Kodape 20 August 2025 Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Twilight had just begun to fold itself across the Chao Phraya when I first saw her— The Peninsula Bangkok, rising with the kind of confidence that doesn’t need to gesture. The boat glided to its private dock, lanterns flickering above calm water, and the bustle of the city surrendered to stillness. No chaos, no performance. Just the hush of arrival. Inside, the marble floors stretched beneath vaulted ceilings, and a piano played somewhere in the background—nothing showy, just enough to slow your breath. The staff moved with the elegance of memory, anticipating before asking, offering before needing. No script. Just grace in motion. My room unfolded like a private retreat. Every detail placed, not posed. Polished teak, soft cream tones, silk pillows, and views that spanned the river's long, whispering curve. There was no need to find peace here—it had already been drawn into the walls. A deep soaking tub waited beneath bay windows, and the lights dimmed with a touch. It didn’t feel like a hotel room. It felt like someone had prepared a space for you to arrive and reset. In the mornings, breakfast happened by the river, where the day bloomed slowly over silver trays and shaded pavilions. The buffet was a quiet procession of flavor—Thai congee rich with ginger and fried shallots, mango carved into perfect angles, fresh dim sum steaming in bamboo baskets. I sat watching longtail boats cut through the dawn mist while sipping espresso from a white porcelain cup that somehow felt lighter than air. Afternoons belonged to the pool, hidden behind gardens and Thai pavilions. It wasn’t just about cooling down—it was about floating into another rhythm. Time loosened its grip. If you wandered further, the Peninsula Spa waited across the courtyard, housed in a classic Thai teak house. The signature treatments didn’t just relax—they erased. The sound of Tibetan singing bowls, oils steeped in herbs grown steps away, hands that moved not with technique alone, but with intention. Come evening, the hotel transformed without spectacle. Lanterns shimmered above the River Bar, jazz drifted across the terrace, and cocktails balanced Thai herbs with citrus, spice, and restraint. My Thaijito—crafted with local rum, peach schnapps, lime, and fresh mint—tasted like everything the air couldn’t say out loud. Dinner was a ceremony in slow fire. Thiptara , the hotel’s Thai riverside restaurant, waited beneath ancient banyan trees and soft candlelight. Each dish came like a memory from someone’s childhood kitchen—pomelo salads, grilled prawns, duck red curry rich with basil and coconut cream. You could hear the river beside you. You could taste history in the rice. What sets The Peninsula apart isn’t just its polish. It's poetry. The staff remember your name. The orchids seem to bloom just when you need softness. The elevator glides so silently you question gravity. You feel known without being observed. The Peninsula Bangkok is a memory in motion—where the river writes your mornings and the sky seals your nights. Every corner holds intention, every gesture feels timeless. From the scent of frangipani at dusk to the soft jazz murmuring over the water at dinner, the experience lingers—unforced, unshaken. It doesn’t shout. It simply stays. • Picture Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Dost – Alankrita Anup Sahai’s Journey

Picture Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Dost – Alankrita Anup Sahai’s Journey by Aparajita Jaiswal Picture Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Dost – Alankrita Anup Sahai’s Journey 25 January 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement The first Indian to win 7 titles at the Miss Earth pageant held in the Philippines, Alankrita Anup Sahai, gets candid with us and gives us a glimpse of her life journey. We asked her about the responsibilities which surely came along with the 7 titles of Miss Earth to which she said, “ Yes it did come with a lot of responsibility and hard work. Well, diamonds are made under pressure so, I somehow worked well with it and didn’t succumb to the pressure. I had to represent my country, which in itself is the biggest dream that came true and which surely filled me with a lot of pride. A lot of eyes were on me at that time. The pressure was undeniably a lot but I enjoyed every bit of it and turned any dark and dull moment into a humorous one. Presence of mind and being able to have fun, played a very important role in winning the same.” She tells us that acting was never a goal or a dream. However, in school days dancing and dramatics were her best friends and she was always participating in all the cultural activities. Inherently, all of it was a part of her but what she really wanted to become was an IAS officer but the universe had other plans and conspired for her. We asked her about her involvement in all the social work she does and how it personally affected her to which she said, “It has made me and my spectrum of understanding human psychology grow. It’s helped me serve the people who in return made my heart kinder and made me more aware that I should be grateful for what I have. They have taught me never to give up on hope and always strive to help or make someone smile even if takes an ocean or just a drop. Everyone should know that they really matter. I am an empath so I can feel things even more intensely now.” “Joyful, eventful, beautiful, hurtful and extremely delightful” – are the words she describes her journey with. The journey encapsulated a variety of experiences that made her what she is today. She says, “ The city of Mumbai took me in its arms and embraced me. She never let me go and never gave up on me. She gave me wings and I flew and built a life, a name that I would continue to work towards. I will enjoy this journey of a lifetime.” Looking back at her journey, she feels immense gratitude and hopes to be a better version of herself everyday. “My journey has been blissfully easy and difficult yet smooth, filled with joy and tears. An Amalgamation of emotions ! Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.” For the obvious delight of her fans we asked her about her upcoming projects and she told us that her two films, ‘Tippsy’ and ‘Dead girls don’t talk’ are slated to release next year. Her upcoming Amazon series, songs and projects are all there in the pipeline. We asked her to share her mantra with the young girls who aspire to be the pageant queens, to which she said, “ Be true to who you are. Be confident and wear your smile like it’s worth a billion dollars. Do not ever succumb to bullies or bully anyone either. You may be heavily influenced by the world outside and Instagram could make you conscious but the world that’s inside of you is far more beautiful. You have to be mentally, emotionally and spiritually aligned and strong to be in any industry and face the challenges the world will throw at you. The will to rise with grace is the most important part of this journey. Avoid being with people who gossip because great minds talk about visions not people. In the end, attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect and mirror what you admire. Life is a journey that has to have its own path but have a little fun along the way and don’t get extremely serious. Your mental health is the top goal, it’s your temple so don’t pollute it. I believe the recipe to finding yourself is to be able to be creative and co-exist with like minded people who see the good and bad in you and show you the light even when you don’t see it . In school we are taught a lesson and then given a test but in life we are given a test from which we learn our lessons . So I believe the only way forward in life is to keep evolving and being your authentic self.” For her story of competing in the Miss Earth, she says that her friends, family and colleagues had played a major role. They pushed her forward and inspired her to follow her calling. “ It was an accidental, universally conspired entry which resulted in the most monumental event of my life. This event is the most special thing for me as it changed my life forever.” “ Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect and mirror what you admire.” SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah The Many Chapters Of Lekha Prajapati, From Performer To Storyteller 6 July 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Across Languages, One Voice: Sheena Chohan 1 April 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Mananveer Singh On Making Music That Feels Natural And Real 24 March 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Falak Khan On Acting, Identity, And Letting Her Work Speak For Itself 9 March 2026 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

  • Hebajasmi Unveils Captivating New Collection For SS25: A Masterpiece Of Art And Fashion

Hebajasmi Unveils Captivating New Collection For SS25: A Masterpiece Of Art And Fashion By Anushka Sharma Hebajasmi Unveils Captivating New Collection For SS25: A Masterpiece Of Art And Fashion 10 September 2024 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement As the spotlight shines brightly on Dubai Fashion Week , HEBAJASMI , the Dubai-based couture brand known for its exquisite evening gowns, prepares to unveil its highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2025 collection titled “State of Art.” Set to debut on the 3rd of September at the D3 Stadium, this collection promises to be a striking representation of the brand’s core principles: quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Since its inception in 2019, HEBAJASMI has captivated the world of couture with its masterful creations that celebrate femininity through structured, elegant designs. With “State of Art”, the brand continues to elevate its identity by exploring the intersection of fashion and art in new and imaginative ways. A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Surrealism: “State of Art” reflects a sophisticated fusion of nature-inspired abstraction and surrealist influences, creating a visual language that is both bold and poetic. The collection is defined by an interplay of structured embroidery, abstract lace, and a contemporary silhouette that pays homage to the female form. This season, HEBAJASMI’s creative team has skillfully juxtaposed precision-cut designs with flowing volumes to craft garments that are at once sculptural and fluid. The result is a collection that celebrates the duality of structure and nature. While the sharp tailoring accentuates the precision and control of the design, the voluminous fabrics and abstract motifs evoke a sense of organic movement. HEBAJASMI has succeeded in creating pieces that don’t just adorn the body but transform it into a canvas for artistic expression. Design Elements: Abstract Elegance Meets Couture Craftsmanship Central to the “State of Art” collection is HEBAJASMI’s impeccable attention to detail. The collection features key elements such as lace, hand embroidery, and abstract embroidery prints, which add layers of complexity to the overall aesthetic. These design elements are meticulously executed to create an intricate balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern abstraction. In keeping with the theme, the color palette for Spring/Summer 2025 reflects a love for vibrant colors, ranging from soft pastels to bold, saturated hues. The combination of bright and muted tones is reminiscent of nature's ever-changing landscape, where the soft hues of dawn give way to the brilliance of the midday sun. This nuanced use of color highlights the brand’s ability to infuse life into each garment, much like the dramatic hues observed in natural and cultural landscapes. One of the signature aspects of the collection is the exaggerated circular volumes, which are designed to evoke the sense of wearable art pieces. These voluminous silhouettes are not only statement-making but also represent a nod to the brand’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion. Each garment becomes a conversation piece, inviting the wearer and onlookers to engage with it as more than just couture but as art. An Artistic Reflection of Nature, Culture, and Humanity In discussing the inspiration behind the collection, HEBAJASMI explains that State of Art was born from an admiration for the vibrant colors and structures observed in daily life. The collection draws inspiration from the natural world, human artifacts, and cultural elements, weaving these themes into a cohesive fashion narrative. The blend of abstraction and surrealism seen in the garments reflects an exploration of how fashion can mirror the complexity and beauty of the world around us. The collection is an ode to artistic expression in its many forms. By translating the intricate details of nature and the boldness of culture into its designs, HEBAJASMI reaffirms its position as a brand that sees fashion not merely as a medium for creating clothing but as a form of artistic storytelling. Event Details and Anticipation for Dubai Fashion Week Dubai Fashion Week will provide the perfect backdrop for the grand debut of “State of Art”. HEBAJASMI’s show on the 3rd of September is expected to be a highlight of the season, as the brand has consistently delivered shows that are not only visually stunning but also thought-provoking. The event will take place at D3 – Stadium, an iconic venue that aligns with HEBAJASMI’s bold, modern aesthetic. As the fashion industry increasingly moves toward sustainable practices, many are curious to see how HEBAJASMI integrates these values into its newest collection. • Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows

Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows by Priti Sharma Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows 12 December 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Similar to art, fashion shows and editorials are meant to elicit discussion. I may not always agree with the idea because it is frequently absurd and outrageous! The objective is to adapt one style element to your own style. The suit is not intended to be worn from head to toe. Fashion shows are crucial since they present the newest trends for the season. They serve as a moving gallery and a style icon for quick clothes retailers who copy high fashion. Instead, a fashion show is an opportunity for a designer to showcase a specific aesthetic, mood, feel or point of view. As a result, fashion shows can tend to be more conceptual and focused on a higher level idea. Designers can display their creative ideas for garments during fashion shows. Future modifications to what individuals wear may result from this. Since they have been included in fashion shows for a number of years, men wearing skirts are now considered acceptable attire. Fashion shows are hugely significant in the worlds of fashion and modeling. Their acceptance has grown quickly, making them one of the major fashion events. The most important aspect of many fashion designers' careers is participating in fashion shows. But what's even more crucial for these exhibitions is that fashion designers can showcase their work and skill. They can develop cooperative partnerships and entice as many clients or business partners as they can this way. Pret-a-Porter & Haute Couture — At a fashion show, models walk the catwalk to display a designer's newest collections. Fashions from pret-a-porter and haute couture are distinguished from one another. Haute couture literally translates as high-end tailoring and has French origins. Haute couture is a term used to describe lavish, distinctive, and high-quality fashion designs. The opulent sets, which feature choreography in the Busby Berkeley style set in magical woods and space-age discos, are as lavish as the outfits, which are adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls. The twice-yearly couture presentations, which are presently being held in Paris, are unquestionable quite the spectacle. The costs are equally astounding as the dresses: a made-to-measure ballgown may easily cost as much as a Rolls-Royce, while a blouse would cost as much as a Madrid flat. Which begs the question: what is the point of couture if relatively few people would spend six figures on a dress? Similar to how automakers flaunt their technological prowess by building supercars, fashion designers utilize couture as a demonstration of their power and technical prowess. The Chambre de Commerce & d'Industrie de Paris carefully regulate entry to the calendar; in order to become a couture designer, fashion businesses must adhere to severe criteria, including having a Paris-based studio with more than 20 employees. The most absurd ideas from a designer are displayed in couture, where there are no financial restrictions on aspiration. Additionally, it displays financial strength. For instance, Versace nearly went out of business during the early 2000s recession and discontinued presenting couture for eight years. When it returned to schedule, in 2012, the brand was perceived as being back in rude health. In short, couture designers are the creme de la creme; fashion’s richest, most accomplished top dogs. Mid-century France was where haute couture first appeared. Charles Frederick Worth, the so-called founding father, was the first to sell custom-made, high-end clothing manufactured to his own designs. Up until that point, made-to-measure clothes has only ever been created with the customer's preferences in mind. The fashion business saw a transformation because to Worth. The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne then came together; this group still governs haute couture and today refers to itself as a fashion association. The designer may only showcase his haute couture line under this genre at the couture presentations of the Fashion Weeks if this committee approves the collection of his designer label. The point of couture is clear: it’s all about glory, pizzazz, and the bottom line. #FashionShow #Fashion #Couture #Glamour #Models #Designers #FashionWeek SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Elie Saab H&M Is Bringing The Red Carpet Home 13 September 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah The Art Of Resort Dressing, According To Hanne Bloch 30 July 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah The New Foundations Of Style, According To Invogue 27 June 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah What's The Colour Of My Voice: Inside The Wonderfully Strange World Of Absent Findings' SS27 23 June 2026 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement

The best picnic spots around the world - that you need to visit LIFESTYLE The best picnic spots around the world - that you need to visit by Aishwarya 4 November 2022 Advertisement Scotch eggs, cheese, and champagne may sound like the ideal picnic, but add views of a rose garden, the beach, or a wildebeest stampede and it becomes even more spectacular. Picnics are everyone's favourite. So let’s see some of the best places to have your picnic, the next time! Beach picnic in Rapid Bay, Australia: Legend has it that when the explorer Colonel Light landed in Rapid Bay aboard HMS Rapid in 1830, he said he'd scarcely seen a better place, and it's difficult to disagree. The bay's sandy beach is nestled beneath cliffs that overlook the ocean and is only a 90-minute drive from Adelaide on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula. The sea is at its warmest between October and May, so you can relax on the beach after feasting on local cheese, bread, and McLaren Vale wine from neighbouring vineyards. Alternatively, you can get a hamper and have a bush picnic. Wildlife picnic in Kumana National Park, Sri Lanka: Set up your picnic basket on the banks of the river that flows through Kumana National Park, an hour's drive from Arugam Bay on Sri Lanka's east coast. As you sip your Ceylon tea, you may notice deer, wild buffalo, elephants, or leopards quenching their thirst in the river. Alternatively, spread down a blanket in Kumana Villu, a 202-hectare mangrove swamp where painted storks feed their fledglings in the treetops and pheasant-tailed jacana swim about floating nests. To avoid the annual rain, the area is best explored between April and September. Ayu in the Wild, a luxury tour company, creates customised tours with a focus on ecological and slow travel - and it can even prepare a picnic. • The History Of Heels: Explained

The History Of Heels: Explained by Aishwarya The History Of Heels: Explained 4 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement For the last 3 centuries, high heels are extensively thought to be a women’s vogue. Seen everywhere from the runways to daily work attire, adding several elevations to a woman’s height is often thought of as the key to attachment associate ensemble along. All the same, as addicts of fashion at intervals and out of doors the trade take strides to interrupt the gender binary in attire, multiple men are noticed sporting high heels. By clutches footwear that has become such an associate picture illustration of female fashion, their selection is far dubbed “ground-breaking” or “gender-bending.” Curiously enough, the invention of high heels began specifically for men. The initial notable kind of heels dates back to the 10th- century in Persia. Male warriors riding horseback used heels to secure their feet within the stirrups and provide them additional leverage while fighting. The origin of high-heels is derived back to the fifteenth century in Persia when warriors wore them to secure their legs in stirrups. Persian settlers brought the shoe trend to Europe, where men and nobles wore them to look tall and fearful. Because the high heel came to indicate power and military artistry, it conjointly changed into a show of wealth, as solely those with wealth might afford horses. This symbolism reemerges in France during the 1600s during the reign of King Sun King. The Master of Versailles used footwear to differentiate each category and preference of the military. In 1670, he declared that solely members of the noble category might wear heels, and also he solely allowed his favourite courtiers to wear red( his colour of choice). The most international and perhaps the oldest shoe story considers a righteous woman whose shoes elevate her to a progressive rank- Cinderella. The story of the ‘slipper test’ is derived from the first century in Egypt. This tale and many more like them, advocate the picture of slippers as status and represent the importance, power and magic of shoes. By the end of the French Revolution, though, high heels were thought of as too feminine and customarily forgotten by men in Europe, yet, across the pool, because the yank West began to draw in new settlers, the wrangler, arguably associated and outlined by his attire, was thought of as the epitome of masculinity and masculine pride. Most wrangler kicks featured an associate inverted spherical heel referred to as a Cuban heel( representing the footwear of ancient Flamenco prom) and were a necessity for staying upright while moving long distances on horseback. Despite this, heels outside the wrangler setting were typically still thought to be women’s shoes. It had been not till the 1960s, once the rock group jaded the “ Beatle Boots ” — associated with early replication of Chelsea kicks — that the heel was reinvited into menswear. Rock- n- roll teams of the late-twentieth century like Aerosmith and Mötley Crue embraced such tamed designs in addition, whereas glam gem artists like Kiss and David Bowie selected for alternative ostentatious renditions. Unlike the low Cuban heels of'70s hair bands, Bowie and his stage persona Ziggy romanticism gravitated towards daring platforms, stilettos, or typically improved heels all of that were, at the time, substitutable with women's fashion. Whereas cultures like drag queen communities and theatre culture throughout this point had earlier standardized men carrying heels and alternative historically womanly clothes, Bowie's look brought gender subversive fashion to the thought. In the 2010s, the come of the Chelsea bang in convenience wardrobes was, erstwhile once more, met was respectable attention. Though, as designers still mix menswear and womenswear, the androgynous lines around apparel and accessories have lightened in their harshness. Heels improved and flashier than a straightforward black Chelsea kick square measure additional common for men than in previous decades. Brands have used them as a part of their menswear collections, and they have so established their approach to streetwear. Such as apparel, the step-down of heels as a "woman's shoe" continues to unfold as attire becomes lesser tied to one's personal identity and sex. As men hit red carpets and magazine covers in robes, there's no reason they ought to not have a pleasant few heels to accompany them. The origin of high- heels is derived back to fifteenth century Persia once warriors wore them to assist secure their legs in stirrups. #Heels #HighHeels #Soldiers #Fashion #History #MensWear #FashionHistory SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs.

  • This Editorial Began Beyond The Studio Walls

This Editorial Began Beyond The Studio Walls By Sakshi Shah This Editorial Began Beyond The Studio Walls 10 March 2026 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Most fashion stories today begin the same way. A saved folder. A mood board. References collected from places we’ve already seen. This shoot started somewhere else. Instead of building an idea inside a studio, the starting point was simply stepping outside into Mumbai. Water, rocks, trees and open sky were already there, doing what no backdrop really can. The thought was simple: take a garment that usually lives in a controlled setting and see how it feels in a place that moves on its own. The corset was the natural choice for this experiment. Its structured lines usually live in precise, polished spaces, but here it could interact with the unpredictability of nature. The styling concept came together with Aayushi Mishra, while Jay Dighe shaped the shoot visually, letting both photography and ideation respond to the surroundings. The editorial approach guided the way the frames developed, ensuring that the garment’s structure and movement were highlighted without overcomplication. Nothing was forced — the landscape simply existed, and the garment responded to it. The first look stayed intentionally simple. A white shirt layered under the corset, paired with a white skirt, created a crisp silhouette. On uneven ground and among tall grass, the corset’s shape became sharper, the waist more defined, yet the look felt relaxed and approachable. The openness of the setting gave the outfit room to breathe, showing how structure can coexist naturally with texture and movement. This approach emphasized the garment within a real, living environment, rather than a studio construct. Next came a green dress, softer in movement and blending effortlessly with the trees around it. In this setting, the corset acted more as a grounding element than a focal point, giving shape to the dress while allowing the fabric to flow naturally. The result felt balanced rather than heavily styled. A Brazilian model brought fresh energy to the frames, her excitement for the shoot blending seamlessly with the open, natural surroundings. Each frame captured a sense of ease that highlighted both garment and movement. By the lake, the mood shifted again. Sunlight reflected across the water while boots met the shoreline, and fabric caught the breeze with every step. Reflections subtly reshaped the silhouette, creating small, organic changes with each movement. The corset appeared almost architectural here — strong and defined, but never stiff. Against the rocks, water, and open sky, it simply existed as part of the scene. Through the shoot, it became clear how much context can shape perception. In open light, the corset felt confident and structured. Among trees, it seemed grounded. By the water, it looked sculptural and steady. The piece itself remained unchanged, yet its surroundings constantly revealed new facets of its design. Working outside also introduced a rhythm that can’t be recreated in a studio — light shifted, wind moved fabric, and small moments happened spontaneously. Those subtle variations made the frames feel alive, while keeping the editorial direction intact. In the end, this story wasn’t about showing multiple ways to style a corset. It was about seeing what happens when a familiar piece is placed somewhere unexpected. Sometimes styling isn’t about adding layers or building elaborate sets. Sometimes it’s about letting the garment respond to its environment, and letting the frame itself guide the story. A corset in a studio is something we’ve seen many times. A corset standing quietly among rocks, trees, and water feels like an entirely different conversation.
