  • Prostitution And Criminalization

SOCIETY by Anushka Singh Prostitution And Criminalization 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Prostitution being one of the major social ills existing in Indian society, undeniably is a matter of critical concern. It occurs in different forms and its legal status differs from country to country ranging from being an enforced or unenforced crime, to regulated or an unregulated profession. Reflecting differing opinions, the position of prostitution varies widely worldwide. Some believe that paid sex is so entrenched in our society that our focus must be in keeping it upright and unassailable rather than prosecuting it. While some simply perceive the idea of prostitution as a legitimate occupation, others as an institution are the supporters of ‘Nordic Model’ which makes the purchase of sex illegal but decriminalizes the act of selling it. This approach has also been adopted by various countries like Canada, Ireland, Iceland, Norway and France. The juridical position of prostitution has been a subject of grave debate during recent years. And like every debate has, sex work likewise has two ends to it which must be analysed before arriving at a deemed conclusion. The question is, should we legalise it or keep it criminal? Here is a brief to both ends of the debate. Keeping it criminal Even after legalizing prostitution with best intentions of retrenching human trafficking and criminal enterprises, some countries still suffer from illegal counterparts. For example, illegal bordellos still exist in the Netherlands, a country which legalized prostitution in 1988 and prostitutes continue to suffer abuses at the hands of the procurer. Another major argument is, prostitution promotes degrading attitudes toward women and obliquely invites violence against them. The fact that 80% of sex workers are female can not be overlooked and they are more likely to be raped or murdered than any other population because of the malicious behaviour people have towards them. And so by the necessity to protect and save themselves, either from physical harm or destitution, an enormous female contingent of female sex workers fall out of option and throw themselves at the mercy of the men they serve. Cruelly, society often blames women for the violence against them, theorizing how she must have brought the trouble on herself. The only way to combat such attitudes and realities is to increase legal measures against who perpetuate the prostitution industry. Legalizing it Criminalization of prostitution leaves sex workers on the fringes of society, making them vulnerable to violence, poverty and health issues whereas legalization bypasses the most dangerous aspects of prostitution. Decriminalization also allows sex workers to get help from police in incidences of violence. Also, it provides them access to social security and public health care. It has been noted that sexually transmitted infections are statistically lower in areas where prostitution is decriminalized. Legalization also helps to concede that consensual prostitution has a victimless nature. The internet bristle with the testimonials of sex workers evincing their consent on having a career in sex. Along with manifesting their assent, these personalities have also stated the disparity between themselves and those who are browbeaten or compelled into this social evil. Even if the ethical framework of prostitution is not clear, society should avoid binding sex-trade which as a reaction does not harm individuals or the society itself. The ultimate line In either way, prostitution remains to not be an ascendant practice as there are so many prospects and the presence of both willing and unwilling individuals dealing through discrete circumstances, finding their way out somehow. • Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26

Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The night was heavy with anticipation, the kind that hums beneath the skin before a story begins. The chandeliers above glowed like constellations suspended in velvet darkness, and the murmurs of the audience rose and fell like a tide against the shore. Then the music swelled, low at first, almost imperceptible, and the runway came alive. A figure emerged from the shadows, draped in fabric that caught the light like a secret being revealed. In that moment, silence fell, and DIBBA Studio began to write its chapter at Thailand Fashion Week AW25/26 . What unfolded was not a mere display of garments but the telling of a story. DIBBA Studio has always carried the reputation of a brand unafraid of innovation, but this collection transformed that ethos into something much deeper. Each look became a sentence, each fabric a metaphor, each silhouette a carefully chosen word. The runway was their page, the models their narrators, and the tale was one of identity, transformation, and artistry at its most distilled. The collection leaned into contrasts, weaving the past into the present, precision into fluidity, stillness into movement. Jackets cut with sharp edges softened into cascading hems. Drapes suggested tradition yet refused to remain confined within it, dissolving instead into gestures of contemporary rebellion. The designs seemed to speak to heritage without echoing it too literally, translating memory into a language meant for now. Textures played the role of punctuation. Heavy wool stood solid, cotton carried the warmth of familiarity, while gauzy layers slipped through the air like whispers. One could almost imagine the sensation of fabric against skin, the steady weight of a structured shoulder, the fleeting coolness of silk as it brushed against light. The tactile story was as vivid as the visual one, reminding everyone that clothing is an experience, not just an image. Movement deepened the narrative. With each step, garments shifted their meanings. An oversized coat that at first appeared austere softened into unexpected gentleness, angular lines collapsed into liquid ease, rigid outlines dissolved into forms that seemed to breathe. Fashion here was not frozen in presentation; it lived, altered, adapted, like a character revealing new facets as the plot unfolded. The palette carried the emotional arc of the tale. Earth tones such as ochres, greens, and browns offered grounding, as though rooting the collection in the soil of memory. Then came flashes of surprise: a lining of crimson like a pulse of hidden passion, silver threads that glimmered like moonlight, indigo breaking through the muted tones with quiet brilliance. These choices were not decorative but revelatory, moments of sudden clarity embedded within the flow of the story. What struck most was the restraint. DIBBA Studio did not need extravagance to command attention. Every detail seemed deliberate, each garment confident in its simplicity. There was no reaching for spectacle, no unnecessary flourish, only the assurance of a voice that knew its strength. Even the styling of the models reflected this clarity. Sleek hair, understated makeup, and an aura of authenticity emphasized the garments rather than overshadowed them. They moved not as mannequins but as people, carrying the designs into the realm of lived reality. Beneath the spectacle, the collection posed deeper reflections. Fashion is always about more than fabric; it is about identity, about the tension between what we inherit and what we become. DIBBA Studio seemed to ask: how do we honor the past while stepping into the future? How do we carry roots without being bound by them? In a time when the industry wrestles with sustainability, cultural representation, and the place of technology, this collection offered a quiet answer. Progress does not demand erasure, and innovation shines brightest when grown from tradition. As the final model disappeared into the darkness and the applause broke free, the audience was left not with fleeting admiration but with a lingering sensation. This was fashion that lived beyond the runway. It was art, philosophy, narrative, woven into fabric and carried forward in memory. DIBBA Studio’s AW25/26 showcase was not content with being seen; it demanded to be felt. In the end, what unfolded was more than a fashion show. It was an experience, a reminder that clothing is never just about what we wear but about the stories we choose to tell through it. And in that story, DIBBA Studio has carved a chapter that will not fade easily, a chapter that threads itself into the future with poise, confidence, and quiet brilliance. • Shadows & Silk: Bunny Nana’s Aw Romance In Bangkok

Shadows & Silk: Bunny Nana’s Aw Romance In Bangkok By Ananya Patankar Shadows & Silk: Bunny Nana’s Aw Romance In Bangkok 9 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Crafting Bespoke Elegance: From Hong Kong to Thailand’s Runway Muted dove gray and structured elegance meet in this tailored overcoat, redefining winter wear with bridal precision and couture restraint: that’s how Bunny Nana took over the runway. Bunny Nana, hailing from Hong Kong, has long championed the art of made-to-measure elegance. Best known for its bespoke bridal and evening wear, the brand merges impeccable craftsmanship with a poetic sense of storytelling. Every gown, every seam, is designed to celebrate individuality—quietly luxurious, deeply personal, and effortlessly romantic. This season, stepping away from ornate tradition and into a more nuanced, textural world, Bunny Nana brought its signature grace to Thailand Fashion Week , unveiling an Autumn/Winter collection that whispered sophistication in every thread. Nana’s Autumn/Winter collection leaned into the language of fabric—where texture replaced embellishment, and movement spoke louder than metallics. Sumptuous silks, brushed satins, and fluid crepe took center stage, each selected for how it draped, caught light, or responded to motion. The palette stayed understated—ivory, dove grey, soft charcoal—allowing the quality of the textiles to command attention. There was a quiet luxury in the restraint: no sequins, no excess—just folds, flow, and finish. Whether it was a structured wool-blend coat with architectural shoulders or a silk gown that swept the floor like mist, every piece was a tactile experience. In a world often obsessed with embellishment, Bunny Nana’s choice to let fabric lead was both a design philosophy and a statement of confidence—showing that true romance can live in simplicity. This collection paid attention to making a statement, one which voices that silhouettes can stir emotions. The runway unfolded with opulent gowns that moved like whispered secrets—draped silk and crepe forming liquid lines that trailed behind the model like memory. Off-shoulder necklines revealed delicate collarbones, while subtle pleats added softness without overwhelming the structure. Contrasting this ethereality were moments of architectural clarity: tailored outerwear in sculpted wool, with clean shoulders and cinched waists that nodded to bridal corsetry without feeling constrained. Flowing capes, some sheer and others fully lined, created a cinematic sense of motion—part cloak, part veil. This interplay between form and fluidity, control and release, defined the collection’s romance. Each look felt personal, like a silhouette designed to echo its wearer’s energy. Whether worn for a winter ceremony or an evening affair, these shapes were less about trend and more about timeless emotional design. Each look was crafted to instill a feeling, stir emotions of romance, gracefulness and echo timelessness. This collection felt right at home within Bangkok’s refined fashion landscape—one that increasingly favors elegance with intention. The label’s commitment to craftsmanship and quiet beauty aligned effortlessly with the event’s broader celebration of Asian minimalism. In a sea of spectacle, Bunny Nana’s subdued grandeur stood out, not by demanding attention, but by rewarding it. Each look moved with purpose, echoing the cultural value placed on grace, poise, and personalization. The show felt less like a presentation and more like a procession of living portraits—each garment tailored not just in cut, but in spirit. In a region where storytelling is intrinsic to design, Bunny Nana’s narrative of bespoke romance resonated deeply, making it one of the most poetic highlights of the week. Bunny Nana’s Autumn/Winter collection wasn’t just a seasonal offering—it was a quiet revolution in how romance can be worn. With restraint as its canvas and craftsmanship as its voice, the brand delivered a story that lingered long after the final look. In a world chasing spectacle, Bunny Nana reminded us of the power in subtlety. Because sometimes, the softest silhouettes leave the strongest impression. • Breakfast – Don’t Miss

By Akash Khatri Breakfast – Don’t Miss 15 June 2025 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement My most favourite meal of the day – BREAKFAST! The first thing out of bed. The fun part: it can include anything, be it fresh orange juice, hot waffles, drooly pancakes with maple syrup, a bowl of cereal with fresh milk, oats garnished with pretty dry fruit, tasty French toast, a warm croissant, crispy bacon, PopTarts, fruits, berries, a slice of perfectly toasted bread, eggs in any form and not forgetting freshly brewed coffee. It sets the mood good for a day. People often skip breakfast in a rush to reach in time, to spend some more time in bed, because they are too tired to bother, they don’t feel hungry, they are bored of the same breakfast every day, or some other excuse, but it’s wrong. It is called the “most important meal of the day” for a reason. Research links eating breakfast to good health. It helps you kick start your metabolism as it is the first meal after you wake up thereby also helping you to burn calories throughout the day. It provides you with the fuel required to get you going through the day and avoids you to binge eat as it controls your appetite. Science has proved that a good breakfast is directly proportional to a better memory. This ‘first meal’ also lowers bad cholesterol levels in our body and prevents a number of other diseases such as diabetes, obesity, etc. A US study that analyzed the health data of 50,000 people over seven years, concluded that those who made breakfast the largest meal of the day had a lower body mass index (BMI) than those who ate a large lunch or dinner. Moreover, it breaks the overnight fasting cycle by replenishing the body with glucose. A healthy breakfast also contains all nutrients such as calcium, iron and B vitamins as well as protein and fibre which are very important for our body. Running late? Don’t worry, we’ll help: Prepare a week’s breakfast over the weekend or the night before such as overnight oats, fruit jars or healthy muffins. A pre-prepared breakfast saves you ample of time in the morning and can be picked up on the way to your destination. Try setting your alarm 10-15 minutes prior to your usual time so that you don’t skip breakfast. Figure out what you want to eat for breakfast the night before and set out dry ingredients or pans and bowls you would require so that you save time in the morning. Stock your cupboard with go-to breakfast foods like protein bars, low sugar cereals, smoothies, etc. Keep some breakfast foods in your car or workplace or handbag. According to nutritionists, one should eat breakfast within two hours of waking and it should be in the range of 25-35% of your guideline daily allowance, also known as GDA. A few quick breakfast ideas: Ø Avocado toast with eggs Top a slice of brown or multigrain bread with smashed avocado and a sunny-side-up/fried/baked egg or two sprinkled with some salt and pepper for taste. Ø Pancakes It can be finished with a handful of berries, chopped bananas, spread of peanut butter or chocolate spread or the old maple syrup. Ø The fruit toast My personal favourite, it’s super easy to make. Add your favourite nut butter with some chopped bananas on a toast with a garnish of chia seeds. Ø Fruit bowl The quickest to make. • This Is What Will Happen If You Stop Using All Skincare Products For Three Months

By Anushka Sharma By Anushka Sharma This Is What Will Happen If You Stop Using All Skincare Products For Three Months 25 June 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Well, to say the least, your skin will literally clear up like never before. Let’s talk about a case study and refer to that person as “X”, as “X” does not wish to disclose her real identity. X has been travelling the world as a digital nomad throughout her life, and definitely suffered from the adverse effects that travelling has on one’s skin. With a combination skin type, X was trying her level best to come up with a solution that would help her combat her skincare troubles. If you don’t know this already, combination skin type is one of the most common skin types around; It is signified as dry and sensitive in some areas such as one’s cheeks, and oily in others such as one’s T-zone. So, X starts on a journey of skincare which involved involved a twice-daily (morning & evening) face wash, followed by toner, hydrating face cream, and eye cream. She also included an exfoliating face wash once or two times a week. X didn’t want to exactly disclose the names of the brands, because the problem wasn’t in the brands, the problem was in the fact that the world told X to lather her skin with useless products. What happened after that? Well, nothing positive. Until no time, X started breaking out into little red bumps and developing high sensitivity around the cheek-region. It resulted in her skin being itchy, irritable, and inflamed. After a while, X realised that there was no point in using so many products on her skin which was already on a downgrade. Hence, she chose to blindly follow her father’s advice and eliminated every skincare product from her skincare routine. So, what was the new routine like? This routine was something that X would’ve never thought of adhering to in her wildest dreams. However, in this new routine, X chose to eliminate all the products and just keep the basics in hand. She ensured to wash her face every morning/evening with a damp warm towel (no products at all), and made it a point to use a natural lip balm for her lips, sunscreen during the day, and treated her skin to natural face masks on Sunday (All you need to do is literally spread aloe vera, yogurt or honey on your face.) What happened with this routine was BEYOND ORDINARY. For the first two days, X experienced inflammation where the cheek area got a tad irritated. After all, the skin was so fatigued. After two good days, the skin calmed down and continued to get calmer and calmer. Within ten days, X could notice that her skin had visibly calmed down and it looked significantly relaxed. The spots weren’t very prominent and the itchiness and sensitivity had faded. Within thirty days, X’s skin had adjusted to her new skin and saw pretty good results. Almost everything had faded and she was left with clear, almost supple, baby-like skin. This article isn’t written to make you hate lab-formulated products. However, it’s always ideal to look out for natural ingredients that are extracted from the goodness of the Earth. The usage of so many products definitely exposes our skin to a whole lot of chemicals and strips it off its essential oils. Why on earth would we ever want that for our skin? • From Blair To Bloomingdale's: The Prep Revival We're Living For

From Blair To Bloomingdale's: The Prep Revival We're Living For By Ananya Patankar From Blair To Bloomingdale's: The Prep Revival We're Living For 18 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement With spring’s arrival comes a renewed craving for crisp silhouettes and fresh palettes. The preppy aesthetic: clean, classic, and cleverly composed, makes its elegant return, redefined for the women who walk the line between heritage and modernity Preppy style has always whispered rather than shouted. This season, it speaks with a clearer, more expressive tone. Think ballet flats in powder pink, glossy Mary Janes with sculptural buckles, and pearl-dusted headbands that nod to Blair Waldorf—but without the drama. Bloomingdale’s edit captures this evolution with quiet confidence: timeless pieces styled for modern moments. Preppy is having a moment—and not in the way you remember it. Gone are the rigid polos and rule-bound uniforms of school corridors past. In their place: a new kind of polish, softened by sunlight and worn with the ease of a knowing smile. The Spring edit at Bloomingdale’s embraces this redefinition with quiet confidence—curating pieces that echo the icons of prep without mimicking them. There’s the Upper East Side poise of Blair Waldorf in a croc-embossed headband and sharp box-pleated mini. The understated cool of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in her rounded shades and hairband. There’s Clueless-era Cher Horowitz in her tweed cardigans and matching Mary Janes, her charm disarming, her tailoring impeccable. And of course, there’s the boyish charm of Ali MacGraw in Love Story—camel coats, collegiate knits, and just a touch of deliberate dishevelment. Bloomingdale’s channels these influences not as costume, but as conversation: houndstooth trenches softened with silk scarves; prim skirts paired with oversized oxfords; ballet flats done in patent blush with unexpected square toes. It’s preppy, yes—but airier, dreamier, and unmistakably now. The season calls for clarity. For charm. For the kind of dressed-up restraint that doesn’t beg attention, but earns it with every refined detail. And for that, Bloomingdale’s delivers with studied elegance. • DIBBA Studio: Weaving Journeys Into Wearable Tales

DIBBA Studio: Weaving Journeys Into Wearable Tales By Anurag Sen DIBBA Studio: Weaving Journeys Into Wearable Tales 10 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Since its debut in 2016, DIBBA Studio has carved a space in contemporary fashion through its bold storytelling and arresting prints. The Indonesian label—short for “Dis Better Be Awesome”—has built a signature around seasonally themed collections that fuse Eastern heritage with Western boldness. With its 2025 collection titled Odyssey , presented at Thailand Fashion Week , the studio marked a significant evolution in both ambition and artistry. DIBBA first captured attention in the regional fashion circuit through presentations like its 2024 Silk Road collection at Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week—a journey inspired by ancient Chinese royal motifs, mythical creatures, and symbolic embroideries. That showcase highlighted the label’s knack for translating historical richness into visually compelling forms. It set a precedent for how DIBBA approaches fashion: not just as design, but as narrative. With Odyssey , DIBBA continues that trajectory—expanding its lens to explore broader themes of travel, transformation, and cultural exchange. Each piece in the collection carries a layered identity, where print, color, and silhouette work in tandem to tell a story. A bodice may echo maritime motifs; a flowing skirt may suggest movement, migration, or memory. DIBBA has never shied away from bold color—deep ochres, rusted reds, ocean blues—and Odyssey blends them into a cohesive palette that is at once grounded and curious. Our team, present at the Thailand Fashion Week AW25/26 showcase, witnessed firsthand the way DIBBA Studio translated its design ethos into motion. The silhouettes unfolded in dynamic prints, revealing a choreography of strength and fluidity. Denim corsets strutted alongside mesh-backed dresses, while traditional surface motifs were reimagined through modern tailoring. The visual language spoke clearly: this was a brand grounded in Eastern spirit, yet confidently evolving into global sophistication. This interplay between cultural reverence and contemporary form is what makes DIBBA unique. The studio approaches each season with a strong thematic direction—rooted in research and often interwoven with heritage references—without ever losing sight of wearability. There’s a polish to their storytelling. Even the bolder prints feel measured, the silhouettes balanced, the statement pieces intentional rather than loud. DIBBA’s collections also speak to a generation that seeks substance beneath style. Their garments resonate with fashion lovers who appreciate narrative-driven design—who want to wear something that means something. It’s fashion as conversation, not just commodity. And in that space, DIBBA has found its voice. The debut of Odyssey at Thailand Fashion Week is more than just another show on the calendar—it marks a meaningful chapter in the label’s journey toward international presence. As DIBBA continues to grow, the label retains a sense of rootedness in Indonesian creative identity, using global platforms not to dilute that essence, but to deepen it. This is not a brand chasing trends. It’s a brand shaping its own path—through storytelling, through craftsmanship, and through an ever-expanding curiosity about the world it dresses. With Odyssey , DIBBA Studio steps not only into a new season but into a new tier of global recognition, one defined not by mass appeal but by meaningful impact. In a fashion landscape often cluttered by noise, DIBBA’s clarity stands out. It’s not just about what you see on the runway. It’s about what stays with you after. A story. A feeling. A garment that says more than style—it says journey. And with Odyssey , that journey has only just begun. • Fashion In The 19th Century

Fashion In The 19th Century by Himanshi Sharma Fashion In The 19th Century 17 February 2023 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Fashion is something inevitable and had existed always. A fashion of a particular era not only tells us about the clothes people wore but also help us identify their life style, the climatic conditions and even politics of that particular era. The fashion in the 19 th century can not only be described as beautiful but also as extraordinary and mind blowing. We all might have watched period dramas or movies such as the Jane Austen’s classic “Pride and Prejudice” and the famous “Bridgerton” show on Netflix. The clothing of the casts on this show gives us an idea about the fashion in the 19 th century. Now, let us see them in detail. The 19 th century can be divided into two eras namely the pre-Victorian era or early era (1800-1839) and the Victorian era (1840-1899) Early era (1800-1839): Women’s Fashion: The most notable and popular fashion or trend in the era are the empire waist, low square neck, and skirts which or either plain or in folds. This era women preferred mostly pastel colors and white was predominant among them. The works on their dress are mostly subtle such as small frills or embroidery at the borders. The skirts are made in a way that helps them to move quickly. They used Cotton and other similar fabric for their dress. Corsets are not preferred and they are replaced by jackets and shawls which matched their attire. The women mostly used these shawls during winter season. The fabrics used are cashmere, muslin and other ones. The cloak was most famous and almost every woman of the century owned a cloak. The women had put their hair in short curls, which are inspired, from the Greeks and Romans. What is empire waist? It is a waistline, which is present just below the bust. That is the waist is raised around two to 3 inches from the actual waistline. Men’s Fashion: Men in the 18 th century used to wear jewelries and wigs, which are gone on this era. Even the skirts and puffed trousers were avoided. Men shifted to tight trousers that are up to the length of their knee. They started wearing coats with padded shoulders. The coats were reduced to be around the length of their waists, which is a change from the previous long ones. Victorian era (1840-1899): Women’s fashion: In this period, the corsets are back along with the multiple layering of the women’s skirt. The clothing is heavy which made it hard for the women to move quickly once again. The dresses are very long that they touched the floors. The neckline was broad, deep and shoulder revealing. They had a natural waistline and a “V” pointed bodice right below it. The sleeves are made to be big, puffy and balloon like. The women also wore shawls, capes around their shoulders. Bonnets and hats are also famous during this era. Another famous accessory of this era is the ballerina type shoes of the women. The women started portioning their hair in the middle or side. They also put them in a bun in the back or near the ears with one or two curls hanging on their face. Men’s fashion: There are only minor changes and a bit addition in this period when compared to the previous one. Men started wearing different colored coats and trousers. The coats are of dark colors whereas the trousers are of mild colors. The shirts are mostly white. They started wearing full-length trousers. The lengths of the coats are increased up to their knees. Vests and Jackets are also introduced. • WORLD PEACE DOME

by Akash Khatri TRAVEL WORLD PEACE DOME by Akash Khatri 1 November 2020 Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement World peace dome stands tall at 263 feet with a diameter of 160 feet. The height of the dome is 96 feet, whereas total height from ground to apex is 263 feet. The sitting area inside is spread over to 20,000 sq. feet and total seating capacity is 3000. This is one of the important architectural wonder which was completed in the year 2018 and was accomplished through 15 years of perseverance and dedication of thousands of people. This epitome of wonder is located in Maharashtra, India and is dedicated for ‘World Peace and Humanity’ regardless of the fact that India ranks 141 in GPI (Global Peace Index); ranks 133 in peace and security index ,one of the least safe countries for women and has many disputes related to religion, castes going on from years mainly rooting from politics that we often come across regularly. It often leaves me wondering, have the virtual and showcasing world really overpowered us so well and establishing its roots among us so powerfully that we actually believe that buildings and statues representing peace, humanity and unity can make this place or this world better for us? Do we actually believe that burying and not talking about the flaws can disparage them in long terms? This world peace dome left me bamboozled and thinking if it represents the modern world where only fake ways of life is sold rather than just peace and humanity. Metaphorically speaking, if this world peace dome or several structures built like this or are in disputes to be built in future can actually establish a system where the ways of real upbringings, real meaning of life can be shown, where it is explained enough to soak in through the bones that life is more than just ‘representing’ or sugar coating ‘ugly truths’ but these representatives are quoting opposite lessons. Nothing can be a representative of anything if the mirror of that particular place it is built in, is saying something else. Granted it can attract tourism and thus can help in boosting Indian economy in one way or the other but outsiders are really attracted to the Indian culture they found some kind of treasury in, which we are continuously letting to slip away from us! Disguise cannot be put forth longer and the practical perks could exhaust soon if we continue to hide under the films of silver linings. • SS25 New Futures - Swedish Stockings Bring The New Era Of Fashion Unpredictability

SS25 New Futures - Swedish Stockings Bring The New Era Of Fashion Unpredictability By Aarti Singh SS25 New Futures - Swedish Stockings Bring The New Era Of Fashion Unpredictability 25 January 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement For everyone out there who’s New Year's resolution was to make a statement through their fashion and be more responsible towards the planet at the same time, this year sure started off with a bang. Gear yourselves and be prepared to be amazed for Swedish Stockings is here with their brand new collection - SS25 - New Futures; that features a fresh new line up of leg wear for rocking the transitional season looks. Swedish Stockings is a brand that wishes to bring about more sustainable practices in the fashion realm. Their brand motive aligns perfectly with this vision as their entire collection is designed around the central theme of longevity. And even their latest SS25 collection has been designed in Stockholm and produced in zero waste factories in Italy. All the pieces designed are inspired by handcraft as the collection explores different knitting techniques, crochets and laces that feature a dynamic range and provide the canvas for self-expression along with statement net patterns. The colour palette is curated carefully, presenting you with both soft and muted options like brown, grey and pink as well as bold and vibrant accents like Sky Blue and Apple Green. Their mission has always been to implement change and lead by example by proving that sustainability and fashion can go hand-in-hand, without sacrificing or compromising on great quality and design. And for this collection, CEO Linn Frisinger says, “We’re imagining the future, while looking to the past”. Because let’s be honest, we have all been a witness to the timelessness of fashion. It is a cyclical field by nature and no one can really tell what is to come or what would be the up and coming trend. Which is also the very reason why Linn says, “This collection represents a new era, where no one can predict what’s to come- yet we meet with an eternal dawn, a fresh perspective and a hopeful tone”. This era stands for the crests and troughs of fashion that we are seeing wherein we stand collected on a path that could truly take any turn the very next moment. It is a period of unpredictability in the world of fashion, with trends blowing up or vanishing up in thick fog almost overnight. And that is precisely what this collection “New Futures” tries to incorporate in all of its pieces. Be it the Rosa Lace Tights in Sky Blue and in brown that are perfect for a day to night time slay, knitted with luxe lace and featuring a soft floral pattern along with a sewn-on, soft waistband; or the bold and statement making Sofia Leo Tights featuring the iconic animal print- all pieces hold a royal life span leading to a much more sustainable hosiery buying practice. The collection also features the Mila ruffle and the Petite Dots series, along with the Olivia Premium tights in Sky Blue for a more subtle and muted statement. For a lighter transitional styling, the drop includes the Mila socks, Eira and Ekin knee-highs alongside the bold new knitted pattern of the Lykke Net Tights. And all these pieces act like a slate for you to practice your individuality and self-expression in a way that is farthest from ordinary. The SS25 New Futures campaign is set in Tokyo to bring in fusion straight from the land of longevity itself. It is shot and styled by the Swedish creative duo Rami Hanna and Hanna MW , who are also the minds behind the glorious imagery that unfolds as a clash between the contemporary and retro nostalgia. The campaign shoot stages a play with layers, giving the undertones of old and new through its visuals as well. “New Futures” is all about harnessing the transformative energy that takes place when opposites collide, when your choice of accessory can be a mirror to your mood and a statement, all at the same time and all too seamlessly.
