This treatment was first discovered by accident in the 15th Century when a consignment of Madeira wine was returned to the island after being shipped to India. Tokaji The most desirable of these elixirs (and the most expensive) was that of Tokaji Eszencia, a liquid goo that contains as much sweetness as straight syrup. Using Malvasia and Sangiovese grapes dried for five months, Fontodi ages the wine for at least five years before release. Chenin Blanc It’s hard not to love Chenin Blanc. It is versatile in style and sweetness and has the ability to adapt to a wide variety of tastes. Sparkling Wine Françoes President, Brut. Made by Pinot noir wines this wine has vigorous aroma and taste, lively acidity, fine strings of bubbles and the fruity notes so characteristic of the variety are complemented by mature, yeasty aromas due to years of ageing. A well-balanced, complex and lingering sparkling wine bearing all the graceful beauty of its variety. Wiston Estate, Blanc de Noirs Coming from a benchmark year at Wiston, this rich and complex single vineyard wine is brimming with nectarines, strawberries and rhubarb, overlaid with delicious brioche, toasted hazelnut and savoury mineral notes. Torelló, Cava de Paraje This wine is creamy in texture and well-balanced. On the palate there are subtle toasty notes of vanilla from the Allier oak barrels having spent time ageing on its lees. Monfort Riserva Brut. This wine has the aromas of bread crust, hawthorn and white stone fruit shape the nose. On the palate, it is tangy acidic and a silky perlage; and it can be accompanied by mature yellow pear, golden apple and tangerine. #WineRedwineWhiteWineRosewineSparklingwine SEARCH How to keep your skin healthy naturally FOOD Fantasy breakfast FOOD All About Homebrewing: The Art of Making Probiotic Fermented Beverages FOOD Virgin Territory: These non-alcoholic thirst quenchers are mixologist approved FOOD Tasting the sunny side of Christmas: Christmas Cocktails FOOD POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Mumbai’s Take On Valentine’s, From Dinners To Sweet Endings 10 February 2026 FOOD By Shriniwas Kodape Breeze By Lebua State Tower: Duck Skin, Oolong, And The Distance Between Who You Are And Who You Were 9 September 2025 FOOD By Shriniwas Kodape China Table Restaurant At Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok: A Dim Sum Story At Dusk 7 September 2025 FOOD By Shriniwas Kodape The Blooming Gallery: A Fever Dream Of Matcha And Moss 15 August 2025 FOOD RELATED POSTS Advertisement

  • Atout By Dr. Supriya M: The Trailblazing Educator-Turned-Entrepreneur Redefining Saree Culture

Atout By Dr. Supriya M: The Trailblazing Educator-Turned-Entrepreneur Redefining Saree Culture By Sakshi Batra Atout By Dr. Supriya M: The Trailblazing Educator-Turned-Entrepreneur Redefining Saree Culture 12 March 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement What happens when a passionate media educator decides to channel her love for tradition into fashion? When you think of Dr. Supriya M, it’s hard to place her within a single box. A passionate media educator, accomplished researcher, and now an ambitious entrepreneur, Dr. Supriya’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Born and raised in Bangalore, she carved her academic path in journalism, earning a Ph.D. from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism. Today, she is the dynamic Assistant Professor and Head of the Media Club at the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education. But her identity doesn’t end with her academic accolades. Dr. Supriya’s story reveals her evolution from an academic powerhouse to the visionary founder of “ Atout ,” a brand that is revolutionizing the way we perceive sarees. The Journey From Academia To Entrepreneurship For Dr. Supriya, the spark of entrepreneurship was ignited during her Ph.D. journey. A serendipitous moment occurred when she was required to wear sarees frequently. What could have been a mundane requirement turned into a revelation. As she explored the beauty of sarees, their fabrics, prints, and the stories they carry, she found herself captivated by their charm. It was this fascination with sarees, combined with her enduring love for natural fabrics, that planted the seeds for her entrepreneurial venture. “India is one of the largest exporters of cotton, and I’ve always been inspired by natural fabrics. Sarees, especially, make me feel comfortable, carefree, and stylish all at once,” she shares. Dr. Supriya firmly believes that sarees can effortlessly merge tradition with modernity. “People often associate trendsetting fashion with Western attire like jeans, tops, or skirts. But a saree? It’s sexy, elegant, and timeless—all in one,” she adds with a smile. Introducing Atout: More Than Just A Brand When it came to naming her brand, Dr. Supriya chose something unique - “Atout”, a French word meaning "An Asset." The name reflects her vision, to create sarees that are not just garments but treasured assets for every woman. Atout embraces traditional Indian culture while introducing modern design elements. Dr. Supriya’s love for mul cotton, natural dyes, and block printing forms the core of the brand. She envisions sarees that are free from chemicals, affordable, and versatile enough to fit into every woman’s wardrobe, from festive celebrations to casual outings. Atout: Tradition With A Twist Atout isn’t just about draping fabric; it’s about embracing heritage with a modern lens. Dr. Supriya’s designs are rooted in mul cotton, natural dyes, and block printing, ensuring sustainability while celebrating India’s rich textile legacy. Each Saree From Atout Tells A Story: Comfort Meets Elegance : Natural, chemical-free fabrics make Atout sarees a dream to wear. Bold Meets Beautiful : Vibrant hues, pastels, and timeless prints bring tradition into the 21st century. Affordable Luxury : Elegance doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag—Atout makes beauty accessible to all. Breaking Stereotypes: Sarees As The Ultimate Fashion Statement Dr. Supriya’s philosophy challenges the notion that Western wear dominates modern fashion. “A saree can make you look fashionable, trendy, and powerful. It’s not just a garment; it’s a statement piece,” she asserts. Atout’s sarees aim to showcase how this timeless attire can be reimagined with unique concepts like pastel tones, vibrant hues, and intricate block prints, proving that tradition and trend can coexist beautifully. The Support System Behind Her Success Dr. Supriya credits her family’s unwavering support for her success. Coming from a respectable background -her father an IPS officer, she grew up in an environment that encouraged her to chase her dreams. “My family has always given me the freedom to fly with my wings,” she reflects fondly. On Competition: A Philosophy Of Self-Growth When asked about her competitors, Dr. Supriya’s response is as bold as it is refreshing. “I don’t see anyone as my competition. My only competitor is myself. If I’m satisfied with the quality of my products and my customers are happy, that’s enough for me,” she says with confidence. Future Aspirations: Building A Legacy Looking ahead, Dr. Supriya has ambitious plans for Atout. Her focus is on sustainability, customer satisfaction, and expanding the brand through multiple channels, including e-commerce platforms, multimedia promotions, and word-of-mouth publicity. For her, success is not just about sales, it’s about creating a product that makes people feel good about what they’re wearing. Her vision? To design more innovative fabrics using natural methods and introduce unique sarees that resonate with modern sensibilities while staying true to their roots. The Core Of Atout Dr. Supriya encapsulates her brand’s philosophy in three key principles: durability, affordability, and timeless style. Atout sarees are designed to make women look and feel their best, combining high-quality craftsmanship with natural, chemical-free materials. A Message To Women Everywhere Dr. Supriya’s journey is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and staying true to one’s roots. Through Atout, she aims to inspire women to embrace sarees not just as traditional attire but as a bold, versatile, and fashionable choice. As she puts it, “Sarees have been celebrated for centuries. They’re not just garments; they’re a symbol of our culture, our identity, and our ability to blend tradition with innovation. With Atout, I want to remind women that they don’t have to choose between looking trendy and honoring their roots - they can have both.” Dr. Supriya M’s story resonates with anyone who has ever dared to dream beyond the ordinary. From her academic achievements to her entrepreneurial journey, she is a living example of how passion and determination can lead to extraordinary heights. And with Atout, she’s proving that the saree is not just a relic of the past - it’s the future of Indian fashion. • The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise

The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise LIFESTYLE The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise By Shriniwas Kodape 4 September 2025 Advertisement Bangkok can chew you up. It’s a magnificent kind of chaos, sacred, sweaty, addictive, but it gets under your skin. The tuk-tuks buzz like caffeine shots, street vendors yell in every direction, and even the sunsets feel like they’re trying to sell you something. By day three, I was running on fumes, smelling faintly of lemongrass and regret. That’s when I walked into The Spa at the Urban Wellness Centre at the Four Seasons. No fluorescent lighting. No fake fountains. Just stillness. Cool marble floors, warm smiles, and a cup of something herbal I didn’t bother identifying. It tasted like surrender. I wasn’t looking for a spa day. I wanted to be put back together. The Spa isn’t a wellness center trying to be cool. It doesn’t hand you a clipboard and ask how “stressed” you are on a scale of 1 to 10. It watches. It listens. And then, it quietly goes to work. They call it the Urban Wellness Centre , but that doesn’t quite cover it. It’s a sanctuary carved out of one of the loudest cities in the world. A massive space of calm with soaring ceilings, indoor gardens, and a vitality zone that includes hot and cold plunge pools, herbal steam rooms, and a rain shower that falls like forgiveness. I stripped out of the city and into a cotton robe that fit better than half my wardrobe. My therapist, a woman with eyes like she’s seen 1,000 broken backs and fixed 999 of them, greeted me with a soft bow. She asked me one question: “What are you holding on to?” I didn’t know. But I was about to find out. The 90-minute Four Seasons Signature Massage wasn’t a massage. It was a conversation between muscle and memory. She used elbows, bamboo sticks, warm herbal compresses, and at one point, something I can only describe as ancient wizardry. My spine clicked into place. My breath slowed. The city melted off me like old wax. There were moments I drifted. Not into sleep, but somewhere beyond it. A place without notifications. A place without needing to be anywhere else. And it didn’t stop there. I wandered into a sound therapy room afterward. Bamboo walls, soft mats, and a bowl that sang when stroked. The sound wrapped around me, low and slow, until I couldn’t tell where it ended and I began. I floated out like I’d been reset. Everything about the Spa is intentional. Not flashy. Not performative. Just right. The bath oils don’t scream of lavender and cliché. The showers are carved from stone and shadow. There’s even a 3-hour Signature Ritual that starts with a body scrub and ends with your soul asking for a cigarette. I met a woman on the way out, dressed in all white, sipping on ginger tea like it was a martini. She smiled and said, “Second time this week. I live across town but it’s the only place that feels like the city forgot to follow me in.” I got it. Completely. I’ve been to spas that felt like they were trying too hard. Whale music, overpriced cucumber water, therapists who treat you like a to-do list. This wasn’t that. The Spa treated me like a person, not a customer. A person who needed quiet. A person who didn’t realize how loud everything had gotten until it stopped. On the way out, I stood at the edge of the inner courtyard. Wind brushed past the water garden. Somewhere, a bell chimed. My shoulders were lower. My jaw, unclenched. My body, lighter. Not healed completely. But I was reminded. The world outside was still spinning fast. But for a moment, inside those walls, I remembered how to be still. And that? That’s the kind of therapy no app can deliver. • K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe

K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe by Yashi Srivastava K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe 10 February 2023 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement K-pop is more than a music genre in 2022. It is a wave, a trend, a bold choice of fashion coupled with luxury and serving looks! Korean pop music has its roots fixed in the 90s, but after the rise of artists like PSY and BTS, K-pop has taken over the global wardrobe, not just with its music but also fashion, style, and charisma. Why shouldn’t it? After all, K-pop idols are some of the most beautiful faces that you would come across. It is thus, not surprising to know that most of them are headlining several luxury fashion shows across the world and many have become the face of brands like Celine, Dior, Milan, Gucci, and more. So, how is K-pop influencing the wardrobe of the entire fashion world? We shall discuss the same in this article. The rise of K-pop fashion As mentioned already, it all began with during the early 90s when Seo Taiji and Boys created a concoction of South Korean tradition with western instruments and highlighted the same with stunning choreography! The world was in awe and since then, there's been no looking back for the music genre. With time, K-pop fashion promoted fashion accessories like bucket hats, loose fitting T-shirts and jeans, flannels, and more. By the late 90s, K-pop music soared since the term ‘idol’ was coined which led the musicians to become more than performers - they became celebrities and the global (wardrobe) domination of K-pop thus began. Currently, K-pop fashion dabbles between streetwear and sportswear off-stage and everything that’s luxury, starting from Gucci, Versace, Dior, Cartier, Celine, etc. The current popularity of K-pop fashion It is safe to consider K-pop fashion as one of the biggest trends of 2022. From baggy clothes to skirts, to anoraks, from Girls Generation being invited to 2012 Mulberry show in London to BTS attending the 2018 Billboard Awards in complete Gucci outfits - Korean pop culture fashion has certainly come a long way! It is not wrong to say that the digital media has played a prominent role in taking the K-pop popularity to a whole new level, not only in East- Asia and South-Asia but also the West. However, it is not just K-pop idols that have influenced the world wardrobe and have been a part of the global fashion world. Korean fashion brands such as Gentle Monster and Minju Kim are making waves across the world with their fresh styles and K-pop inclined clothing. In fact, popular brands like Adidas have now come up with merchandise that is completely influenced by the K-pop genre, and the sales are on an all-time high! The influence of K-pop idols in global fashion K-pop idols aren't just singers anymore - they are ambassadors of South Korean culture, style, and fashion - and the global fashion world is loving their charisma! From BTS’ V to GOT7’s Jackson and Blackpink’s Lisa, everyone is known for their unique sense of style and cosmic fashion trends. They are breaking the internet with their stunning fashion sense and persona! In fact, they can make or break a fashion trend within minutes and scream of luxury and charm in every sense of the word. It is thus, not uncommon for top fashion brands to seek out idols from K-pop groups like Blackpink, Twice, Aespa, Monsta X, TxT, Red Velvet, and more to promote their brand via advertisements and fashion shows. Why shouldn’t they? After all, K-pop idols are known for their extravagant sense of fashion loaded with high-end accessories and vibrant colors, both on hair and their outfits! However, their fashion isn’t only limited to the stage. From airport looks to casual outings, K-media has its eyes on them and most idols do not disappoint! And let’s not forget the influence they have on some of the most popular fashion brands, like Louis Vuitton, who moved an entire fashion show to Seoul, South Korea, only for the legends known as BTS to promote the brand. In fact, the collection was sold out within a few minutes of the event. BTS’ airport look, where they were dressed in LV clothes from top to bottom, also sold out within a few hours after photos were released online. While BTS have their own contribution in bringing the world’s attention to K-pop culture, it is the aestheri and eye-catching visuals of K-pop idols from several groups that keeps the genre’s popularity growing. EXO Kai for Gucci and Bobbi Brown, IU for Gucci, Red Velvet Irene for Prada, Blackpink’s Jisoo for Cartier and Dior, Aespa for Givenchy, EXO Sehun for Dior, are some of the popular K-pop names who are faces or brand ambassadors of some high-end luxury brands. Wrapping up K-pop idols, in recent times, have proven that they are way ahead of the curve in terms of fashion and media both, and they aren’t stopping anytime soon! So, get ready, because K-pop is and will be the moment for several coming years in trends, style, and of course, influential fashion. Blob - It is not just the outfit that defines fashion for K-pop idols. They are also about style that sends and spreads a message, the make-up that accentuates the beauty of the IDOL irrespective of the gender, and visuals that are as stunning as they can get. So, today we shall talk about K-pop and the way it is impacting global fashion! There is fashion with style and then, there is fashion with inspiration - K-pop delivers a bit of both and in a way, that you cannot take your eyes off of the idols. • Why India is the most depressed country in the world?

SOCIETY by Anadi Gupta Why India is the most depressed country in the world? 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement India is the world’s most depressed country and we don’t talk about it as much as we talk about other diseases, but you’ll be shocked to know that 300 million people worldwide are suffering from depression. Depression and bad mental health have been ignored as a serious issue since ages. Mental health is as important as physical health but sadly nobody takes it as a serious illness and avoid talking about it. People in India still take it as a taboo. A study reported in WHO, conducted for the National Care Of Medical Health, states that at least 6.5 per cent of the Indian population suffers from some form of the serious mental disorder, in spite of the rural-urban differences. Though there are effective measures and treatments, there is an extreme shortage of doctors and mental health workers like psychologists and psychiatrists. As reported latest in 2014, it was as low as ”one in 100,000 people”. The average suicide rate in India is 10.9 for every one lakh people and the majority of people who commit suicide are below 44 years of age. According to these data, India is in a serious mental health crisis but the attitude which Indians show towards it is not helpful at all. It won’t make any change. A major part of population of India is highly judgmental towards those who have any kind of mental illness. They don’t like to talk to such people because they think it will affect their mental health too. According to the surveys the people who understand it come from good socio-economic environment and are highly educated. The young kids are coming forward to support many mental health campaigns because they understand and are facing stress a lot. India has less resources and more population but one of the main aspects in which we highly fail is the stereotypical thinking of the people who live here. People still are blinded by the fake traditions and rituals. But depression is a serious mental illness which should be taken seriously otherwise it can cause long lasting severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness and loneliness. There can be different symptoms for different people and it can also be differentiated according to gender. Many people mistook depression for sadness but it is more than just being sad and lonely. Symptoms of it can last from months to years. A person with depression cannot find pleasure or joy in anything. It gets very difficult for one to start a day and get off from the bed. There is just so much hopelessness in everything they do. Everything seems so tiring and difficult. If you see a person like this please tell him to get help if needed and get a proper treatment otherwise it may result in us losing another life. Spread awareness against it, try to make people aware everywhere that mental peace and stability is the most important thing. Many celebrities are now breaking stereotypes and coming forward to talk about it publicly so people can realize its effects. Many mental health foundations are doing great work for the cause. And we can now only hope for things to get better. SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? • Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel

Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel LIFESTYLE Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel By Anushka Sharma 16 August 2024 Advertisement In today's dynamic world, where traditional career paths intersect with the burgeoning digital landscape, stories of individuals navigating dual careers are both inspiring and enlightening. One such story is that of Kritika Goel, a successful Chartered Accountant (CA) working in “Transaction Advisory, M&A” and an emerging influencer based in Dubai. Her journey, filled with challenges, resilience, and passion, offers valuable insights into balancing a high-demand professional career with a thriving side hustle in the digital space. A Serendipitous Start To Digital Creation Kritika's entry into the world of influence was almost accidental. In late 2019, while playing a popular gibberish challenge on Instagram, she stumbled upon the phrase "I want to be an influencer. " This seemingly random moment struck a chord with her. Living alone in Dubai, away from her family and friends in India, she decided to give it a shot. Overnight, she created her influencer page, initially keeping it a secret from everyone, including her family and friends. Kritika's background is rooted in finance. After completing her education in Delhi, where she excelled with top ranks in competitive exams, she pursued a career in Chartered Accountancy. Her professional journey took her through prestigious firms like Deloitte and PwC, and she currently holds a significant position at Alvarez and Marsal, Dubai. A Balancing Act Between The Two Professions Juggling a demanding corporate job and a growing influence in social media is no small feat. Kritika starts her workday early, often working long hours that extend into the night. Despite her busy schedule, she manages to carve out time for her influencer activities. Weekends are dedicated to shoots, editing, and creating content. Her work is not just about posting pictures or videos; it involves planning, coordinating with brands, and ensuring quality output that resonates with her audience. Her approach to managing both careers is strategic and disciplined. Kritika emphasises the importance of setting boundaries and being selective with collaborations. Early on, she took up various opportunities, from beauty products to food reviews, but soon realised the need to focus. Now, she carefully chooses projects that align with her interests and brand, primarily focusing on lifestyle , travel, and commercial shoots. The Support System And All About It Kritika's story would be incomplete without mentioning the unwavering support of her family, and she says this herself. Her mother, in particular, has been a pillar of strength, encouraging her and even enjoying her unedited videos. This familial support and appreciation has been crucial in her journey, providing her with the confidence to pursue her passion alongside her demanding career. The Future Vision Looking ahead, Kritika sees immense potential in the influencer industry. She acknowledges the growing prominence of influencers, noting how individuals like Kusha Kapila have transitioned from social media personalities to mainstream actors. For Kritika, the goal is not just to maintain her dual career but to eventually find a balance where her passion projects can thrive without compromising her professional responsibilities. Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience, passion, and strategic planning. Her ability to excel in two demanding fields serves as an inspiration for many aspiring professionals and influencers. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, stories like hers highlight the exciting possibilities that lie at the intersection of traditional careers and new-age digital professions. • How To Find And Where To Look For Your Ikigai

How To Find And Where To Look For Your Ikigai LIFESTYLE How To Find And Where To Look For Your Ikigai by Aarti Singh 29 October 2022 Advertisement Ikigai (生き甲斐), a Japanese concept which means purpose of living. To put it simply, a reason of being. The cause for which you wake up every morning. Something that gives you direction in life. Something that moves you and gives you a reason to keep trying, keep going on, no matter what. Your purpose needn’t be as huge as World Peace. Infact the one time you should be truly and genuinely selfish is while looking for the purpose of your life. Your purpose should be yours only. It should be special and personal to you. Afterall it’s yours. It’s yours to build, it’s yours to work upon, it’s yours to wake up to, it’s yours to sleep to, it’s yours to dream, it’s yours to achieve. Your purpose, your calling is the one thing in the world that is completely yours and no one else can take it from you. Your reason does not need to make sense to anyone but you. And you know what, it should not. It makes sense to you, and that’s enough because you’re the only one who gets a say in this matter. You might think that the most critical decisions in your lives are maybe your choice of subject, or your partner, or maybe the college you want to go to. But no, the most important decision of your life is whether you really want to find your purpose or whether you want to lead a life without ever knowing your full-potential. Because your full potential can only be unlocked when you’re doing something you love whole heartedly and believe in. Your Ikigai is something so very personal. Just like that diary you made when you were a teenager. Your purpose consists of all your failures, your hardships, your success, your attempts, your good days, your bad days, your self-doubt, everything. But most importantly, it has seen you try even when you were at your lowest and were considering to give up. But you know what the most tiresome part of this process is? It’s not the numerous failures. It’s definitely not the self-doubt. It is the search. The search for you Ikigai. The search for your purpose. Maybe you haven’t found your purposed yet. Or maybe your purpose hasn’t found you yet. But that, my friend, is the beauty of it. That you can go look for it yourself. You can look for it right now if you want. Look for it in the deepest darkest crevices of those nights where nothing seemed to make sense, look for it in the firs ray of sunshine on the mornings which felt like a new start, look for it in the classes that always felt useless, look for it in the clouds which were too stormy and in the silver rays of hope which shone after it, look for it in the daydreams that you’d rather live in and look for it in the nightmare you never wanna relive. Your reason will start as a dream initially. It will seem like something that you have to achieve one day. Sometimes it may also seem like a hazy wish but you have the power to make it your reality because it isn’t something you achieve, no, it is something that you cherish everyday as you wake up. It is not a pedestal, it is something in you, that makes you, you. Your purpose should be yours only. It should be special and personal to you. Afterall it’s yours.
